Make heroes of freedom struggle role models: Chib to youth

JAMMU, Jan 23: Advising the youth to make the heroes of freedom struggle their role models, senior Congress leader and former Minister RS Chib said that it is ironical to find some of our leaders of Post Independence Era trying to misrepresent the facts about freedom struggle of Netaji Subash Chander Bose.
Chib was addressing a massive gathering at a function organized to celebrate the 120th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subash Chander Bose in Basohli. The programme was organized by  Neta Ji Memorial Shiksha Kendra in which a large number of students and public participated to pay respect to Neta Ji. Former Minister R S Chib was the chief guest, Jagdish Raj Sapolia, ex-MLA, SK Abrol, ex-MLC and Prem Sagar Aziz were the guests of honour on the occasion. Darshan Sharma, an eminent educationist and Chairman of the Neta Ji Memorial Shiksha Kendra, presided over the function.
Chib, while paying rich tributes, described Neta Ji a great patriot and an icon of “Freedom Movement” of India. He said, Neta Ji was known for his patriotic zeal and was influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekanand.
Chib further said that “complete independence” for India was his goal and he was totally against the dominion status, as agreed by the Congress at that time. In 1943, he formed Azad  Hind Fauj (INA) at Singapore. This Army reached to Indian soil in 1944, but the dream of Neta Ji could not be fulfilled because of the defeat of Japan and Germany in 2nd World War.
Chib, described Darshan Sharma as an eminent educationist, who has dedicated, 45 years of his life, in shaping the lives of thousands of young boys and girls of hilly and historical area of Basohli. In his address Darshan Sharma said that everyone of us, should be a true Indian and patriot, to counter the evils of our society, so that we can safeguard our freedom attained by our great leaders like Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose.
