Majid Khan asks Govt to pay regular wages to workers

JAMMU, Nov 4: Abdul Majid Khan, president of All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation, while addressing a rally of PHE employees and workers at Nowshera, severely criticized the concerned authorities for paying wages to the workers in highly irregular manner thus causing undue miseries and hardship to the workers and even their families.
“Anti-working class policies of successive Central and State Governments are root cause of the plights of the workers,” he said and strongly supported the demand for payment of wage arrears up- to-date forthwith and to ensure that in future they are paid the same regularly every month along with the employees unfailing.
Abdul Majid Khan also made a strong plea to the Government to implement 7th CPC’s report on central pattern in the State forthwith as the Chief Minister has already assured to consider the same in positive manner.
He also demanded early release of July 2017 DA installment, enhancement in minimum daily wage to Rs 300 and medical allowance, from Rs 300 to Rs 1000, regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years in service.
Ashok Kumar, president of PHE Employees and Workers Association Nowshera, presided over the rally, which was also addressed by Om Parkash Chowdhary, Manmohan Singh, Shaktipal Singh, Naresh Kumar, Mangat Ram and Om Parkash. Employees and workers from other departments also took part in the rally in large number.
