Mahindra opens second off-road training academy in Mangaluru

MANGALURU Nov 16 : Mahindra & Mahindra Limited of the USD 20.7-billion Mahindra group on Friday launched its second off-road training academy here.

Spread over 150 acres, the academy offers state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that includes wireless-equipped Mahindra Thar 4×4 CRDe training vehicles, a press statement said.

The academy would run two courses: basic-level which is ‘Getting Dirty’ and the intermediate-level which is the ‘Trail Survivor’, the statement said.

The advanced course ‘Global Explorer’ would continue at the off-road academy headquarters in Igatpuri, which has so far trained 1,600 drivers from across the country since inception in March 2013, it said.

The academy would also host tailor-made courses for corporates, the statement said.

Speaking at the inauguration of the academy, chief of adventure initiatives, M&M Ltd, Bijoy Kumar Y said, “We hope our off-road training academies will allow adventure enthusiasts to hone their skills as well as test the tough and rugged capability of Mahindra vehicles.” (AGENCIES)
