JAMMU, Jan 31:  Led by BJP Mahila Morcha State President Priya Sethi, the “Mahila Samman Yatra” reached Nowshera and later proceeded to Rajouri. It was given rousing receptions at a number of places by the Morcha activists and womenfolk in large numbers. The Morcha leaders also addressed meetings of women and Party activists, which were organized by Poonam Sharma, Neena Sharma, Madumita Sharma and Anju Khullar.
Priya Sethi, while speaking on the motive of taking out “Mahila Samman Yatra” said that women living in different areas of the State have to face different problems on account of a number of reason and we are on this yatra to take stock of such problems. She said that the BJP has always been working for welfare and equal opportunities to them. Our Party has always stood for their political empowerment and support every such bill or law which is meant for their security and empowerment.
She said that it is most unfortunate that the Congress, which is having women as its head, is ruling the country for the last nine years but has never thought about the welfare of women. For Congress, only promoting women of a particular family is main objective while it has no pain for the women of the country who constitute 50 percent of the population. The same Congress is sharing power in J&K and here too the plight of the women is miserable, she added.
