JAMMU, Feb 23: Mahesh Sharma of National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) made a clean sweep winning all three titles of team, singles and doubles in the table tennis competition of the ongoing annual sports meet of Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) at IIIM Indoor Hall, here today.
Earlier, in the team event, NSSO and Survey of India (SOI) combined side consisting of Mahesh, Shashi Jamwal and Sanjeev Kumar outplayed their counterparts from Indian Institute of Integrated Medicines (IIIM), represented by Chand Raina, Naresh Joshi and Shabir. In team event semifinals, IIIM got walkover while NSSO and SoI combined beat IIIM-B.
Meanwhile, in doubles event, Mahesh, pairing with Sanjeev of SOI trounced the duo of Chand Raina and Naresh of IIIM. Earlier, in the semifinals, Mahesh and Sanjeev beat Shabir and Shashi of IIIM 2-0 while Chand Raina and Naresh defeated Vikram and R K Bali of IIIM.
In open singles final, Mahesh defeated Chand Raina of IIIM in straight 3-0 sets.
