Return of peace

Jammu was, is and will a peaceful city ever remain.
Happy days are here again, here again, here again.
Untiring efforts of Sangarsh Samiti have not gone in vain.
Active participation of Jammuites inspite of extreme bane.
Restoration of our sacred land was the issue main.
Peoples movement brought together all to face the pain.
Children, housewives, young and old formed unbreakable chain.
Bullets, Teargas, Lathis, Govt. tried tough measure's in vain.
SASS, local media, common man, intellectuals tried to explain
Better sense at last prevailed and Govt erased the deep ugly stain.
Patience, determination for justices rewarded inspite of initial pain.
The lives of our martyrs shall in our hearts always remain.
Jammuites have set an exceptional example worthy to emulate.
We must have courage determination and honesty to decide our fate.
Other issues of discrimination, inequality and injustice need to be probed.
Govt. must clearly understand that "Facts do not cease to exist if ignored."
United we stood, united we stand and united we shall ever remain.
Happy days are here again, here again, here again.

India's cricket triumph

When there is toss,
God is boss!
With India's every run,
There is great fun!!
With Yuvrajs "6"
There is little risk!!!
With Rohit's "4"
Yeh Dil Manage more!!!
When Sehwag comes on bat,
All fielders run like rat!!!!!
When India's 300 come up,
Tired cricketers take thumbs up!!!!!!
With Ishant's every ball,
One wicket fall!!!!!!!
When Harbhajan makes a shout
One batsmen gets out !!!
When one batsmen get out
I loudly make a shout!!!!
In the end, when MS Dhoni takes catch,
I think that India is winning the match.

"MOMENTS".....

A hand to hold tight
whenever difficulties arise
A warm hug
whenever tears roll down our eyes
A strong shoulder
whenever we feel like crying
A vigil smile
whenever our colorful life turns black and white
A familiar voice
whenever we feel alone in this ubiquitous world
A cool breeze
whenever we walk alone on wide and empty streets
A full moon
whenever in night we feel like remembering old times
Are the precious and priceless gifts
One needs at that particular
Day and time.....

Let us be friends

Let us wait!
Till the tears wither
Let us do
Friendship with weather
Nothing is , nothing was and
nothing will lost for ever.
Let us accept life!
as it is,
Let us not bother for
What is not our
Let us do friendship with weather
What is lotted!
Can be blotted
And
What is blotted!
Can be lotted
Let us not waste water
Let us do friendship with weather
Let us not hide our weaknesses
Let us not be false and fititous
Let us be as we are
Let us not disclose
Blisters of feet, but
Show the winners feel

Rakhi(Aan)

A little train

From a hole on the plain;
Appeared a little ant Jane.
She tried to lift a small grain
Tried hard times and again;
But no gain, all went vain
Inspite being sound and sane.
Seeing her in such a pain,
Came there a Little Train
And lifted that very grain
With almost no pain.
See, this is unity O'ye man.
Your enemy is furious and sane.
It is high time to make chain
Otherwise oneday you will wane.

SUMEET KOTWAL, PALOURA
Q: Don’t you think that the word ‘secular’ has not included in the constitution of our State and the ‘bill’ demanding punishment to those who don’t respect Indian Flag not passed in State Assembly, which clearly shows the empowering of democratic and secular set up by fundamentalists in Jammu and Kashmir?
A: Fundamentalism, not as of now, but since past several decades, has been eroding the secular fabric of the Indian ethos and eating into the vitals of co-existence, I don’t know at whose instance, but this has certainly jeopardized the progress and development of the State to a greater extent. It is not the question of the words like ‘secular’ or the ‘bill’, but a challenge towards the well being of humans and the humanity. All religions believe that God is one though modes of prayers may be different for each religion, but religious fanaticism is more pronounced presently. Only God knows how to bring the things to total normalcy.
PAWAN HANDOO, VIA e-mail
Q: The time has come for the Central Government to take action against anti-national and terrorists. They are responsible for the ongoing crisis. What do you think?
A: The Central Government is already on the job and fighting such elements throughout the country, not only in Jammu and Kashmir. But State Governments should also remain in fore front on their part and help the Centre in place of seeking help from it.
AARINA NAZIR WANI, DODA
Q: To accept good advice is but to increase one’s ability. Comment?
A: Good things should always be welcomed and accepted no matter what the source is. And a good advice, may be from any quarter, certainly increases the ability of a person.
PAARAS KOTWAL, REHARI
Q: The elections are like examinations, where candidates and parties are eager to win and sometimes they fail. But who are the examiners?
Q: The examiners are common people, who exercise their right to franchise and write the script of politicians. While the candidates enjoy after winning the examiners remain placed at square one position.
MOHD IRFAN, JAMMU
Q: Natural calamity has struck Bihar State in the shape of flash floods in Kosi river, which consumed hundreds of precious lives and rendered lakhs of people homeless, shelterless and at the mercy of God Almighty. What preventive measures the Central Government is taking to save the precious lives?
A: The Central Government on its behalf has sanctioned an immediate relief of Rs 1000 crore and 1.5 lakh ton other materials. But it was the State Government in Bihar, which failed to take preventive measures despite warning by the concerned authorities about the possibility of breach in protection wall at Kosi barrage. Had timely measures been taken and alert sounded before-hand the losses could have been minimized.
SUNNY THUSOO, POUNI CHAK
Q: According to you which is more important in one’s life - luck or hard work?
A: The element of luck must be there if a person is to excel in life alongwith sustained hard put efforts. Only hard work may make a person a perfect coolie or for that matter a peasant a peasant for ever. When the luck favours even less efforts produce best results.
SAMEERA VIA e-mail
Q: Every year thousands of students pass engineering, but inspite of that India is lagging in engineering field. Why?
A: Passing out of any examination be it engineering becomes meaningless, when the trained engineers are made to loiter jobless. I have seen various engineers seeking their sustenance in other fields like journalism, doing job of a manager in some business house or the like. In our society every second person finds himself mis-fit, and that is the national tragedy.
PANKAJ RAINA, SURYA VIHAR
Q: Everybody knows that Pakistan is responsible for militancy in India. Then why Indian Government did not take hard steps to contain or curb the menace?
A: Pakistan since its making in 1947 has been a headache for India and to annex Kashmir with its territory, first sent its army in the guise of tribals in Kashmir, but failed in that. Then it wages a full scale war in the year 1965 with India and again failed to succeed. It repeated its mis-adventure in the year 1971 and in the process lost East Pakistan which emerged as Bangla Desh. As if this was not enough it started militancy first in Punjab and then in Jammu and Kashmir. During 1999 it again made intrusion in Kargil, once again to face the defeat. India has all along been fighting the proxy war with Pakistan till date.
F A TRAMBOO, NEW DELHI

Q: “A drop of ink make make a million think”. How far is it right?
A: A drop of ink can create wonders if properly put to use in writing a few lines, which may compel more than millions to think and change their line of beliefs and ethos.
VARUN DATTA, GURGAON
Q: Is trifurcation of State in the best interest of Jammu?
A: India is a perfect example of unity in diversity and so is the State of Jammu and Kashmir, where its three components are diversely different to each other but form a complete unit, but unluckily the leaders of Kashmir taking advantage of their religion have kept dominated Jammu province as well Ladakh region. While Ladakhis through their sustained efforts and making sacrifices managed to get atleast Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, the people of Jammu remained discriminated against in all matters. Since enough is enough, Jammuites have shown unity during the past two months long strike and compelled the powers that be at the Centre that people of Dogra land cannot be cowed down any more and want equal treatment in all matters. As per my view point the real strength of any State lies in its unity.
MUKESH KUMAR, VIA e-mail
Q: Do not try to see God, but work in such a way that God may want to see you. Please comment?
A: It is said that work is worship. If you love your work and while working you enjoy a lot, then you need not care for the God, because the God loves those fore whom work is above Godliness.
NIPUN SHARMA, VIA e-mail
Q: If now population of Jammu is more than that of Kashmir (due to migration of Kashmiris) then why Assembly seats are more in Kashmir as compared to Jammu?
A: In the Common Minimum Programme of Congress-PDP coalition Government in the State, there was specific mention of constitution of Delimitation Commission to determine the quantum of Assembly constituencies in each province, but since it did not suited the Valley based politicians, they lingered on the issue till the coalition Government can to an end with the withdrawal of support by People’s Democratic Party. Since the State is presently under Governor’s Rule, the ball lies in his court.
SARABJEET SINGH, VIA e-mail
Q: Comment on friendship and real relationship?
A: Friendship is a blessing of God Almighty upon human beings and lucky are those who are bestowed with friends. While blood relations may turn their back in your hour of need, these are the friends who come out with open arms to help you out at the times of crisis.
KANAYA DHAR, BARNAI
Q: Is really there any affect or action taken by the concerned Government agencies on complaints and problems that are published in the columns of “Letter to the Editor” or “Action Please”?
A: It is very simple to judge. If you have any genuine complaint with proof, who can write to the column and see for yourself the action being taken on your complaint. It really works if you share your problems with Excelsior through its columns.
