Thannamandi town is situated on the
foot hill of Rattan Peer (8600') along the right
bank of Thana Nallah. This attractive hill spot
is about 24 k.m. on the north side of Rajouri
town. A present this town is a Tehsil
Headquarter. Kashmiri Muslim population is
dominating the town. This place is mostly known
for Chikhri wood handicrafts.
As per the Rajtringni of Juna Raja which was
written during the region of Sultan
Zain-Ul-Aabdeen (1400-1470), this place was known
as Mudgravyala in the ancient time when this area
was ruled by Hindu kings of Rajouri. But Abdul
Qasini in Tarikh-e-Frishta and Emperor Jahangir
in his Tuzak wrote the name of this place as
“Thatta.” It appears that with the
passage of time, the name changed from Thatta to
Thanna.
Thanna remained the place of great importance for
traders of Kashmir and set of India. This place
was considered as centre place for Kashmiris as
well as Punjabi traders, because from here the

Hallowed
Shrine of Jaurian Mata

Jaurian Mata shrine
is situated about 55kms. towards north of
town Basohli.It is built over the top of
one of the ranges of lagu Himalaya at the
height of app.6500 ft. from the sea
level. The location of the shrine gives
enchanting and charming view with the
grooves of deodar and oak trees around
it. Lush green pastures azure skies and
the sweet tune of the flute steal the
attention of any body passing by there.
The white sheep and goats while grazing
over green grass on the steep of the hill
give view as if the whole surrounding is
studded with white precious stones.
The Shrine remains snow clad from the
month of Nov till March every year.
During this period the idols of goddess
are brought to the plains till the snow
starts melting again. Every year ten days
devi festivals are organized during
Navratras ie.sept.oct.and march April
each. Thousands of devotees from Punjab,
H.P., Haryana U.P. Raj. and whole Jammu
division visit the holy shrine and pay
their obeisance to goddess Jaurian Mata
and get boons and blessings in return. It

Why in future? I am already a superwoman in real

You are just back from The Unforgettable tour. As
far as we know, you have been the initiator of
this entire idea. True?
Not the only but one of the initiators. Actually
way back when Abhishek and I were just co-actors,
I kept telling him 'let's be a part of a troupe
and go on a world tour'. And he kept on saying
'It's not the right time'. But I never thought
that my wish will be fulfilled in such a grand
way and that we will be part of the team as man
and wife.
You too are married for over a year. Are you more
'a Bachchan bahu' or Abhishek's wife?

Okay. See, when Abhishek proposed to me, we were
only lovers. But when you are married you can't

BackRub, which went on to become Google on Sep 7,
1998, Larry Page and Sergy Brin, two graduates of
Stanford University, California USA, erased the
phrase “lack of information” forever
for anyone who uses a computer and an Internet
connection.
Google has now completed 10 years of reigning
supreme in the world of Internet and is still
growing.
What is a search engine? A search engine is a
computer program that searches documents for
specified keywords requested by a user and
returns a list of the documents where the
keywords were found in the order of their
frequency.
The term is often used to specifically describe
systems like Google, Alta Vista, Excite and the
like, that enable users to search for documents
on the World Wide Web (WWW).
A search engine works by sending out a computer
program (spider in computer jargon) to fetch as
many relevant documents as possible. Another
program, called an indexer, then reads these
documents and creates an index based on the
number of search words contained in each document
and only meaningful results are returned for each

The herbaceous plant sprouts from Axillary buds
of an under ground structure the corm that is
made up of fleshy substance that supplies food
for the growing plant. In India its cultivation
dates back to 19th century, as Firmingers manual
of gardening in India published in 1863 mentions
that Charles Grey of coonoor grew some gladiolus
from corms and seeds in his garden..
Gladiolus cultivation under Jammu conditions has
a potential to change the economic scenario of
farmers of Jammu as well as of the entire state.

One gold and two bronze medals may
look like nothing for a nation of India's size.
It stood in 50th position in the final medal
tally -- way behind tiny Jamaica, Georgia and
Cuba.
But if you look at India's track record of having
only four Olympic medals other than in hockey,
then Beijing 2008 is something to be happy about.
Could it be that this across-the-board
improvement in Indian sporting standards has
something to do with nearly two decades of
economic growth? Are improvements in living
standards, education awareness and urbanization
narrowing the gap between raw talent and
opportunity?
The Beijing Games provide a road map for 2012 --
if the Indians do not fall asleep, as they
generally do after each major sporting occasion,
only to wake up a few months or at best a year
before the next one. For that, Bindra would need
to get back to his shooting range right away. And
