A: I am of the opinion that the violators should be dealt with under law and given stringent punishment, because on the name of marriage a house-maid is brought in a family, who is expected to undertake all domestic jobs without getting any salary and also expected to play the role of wife, become a mother, take care of the entire family, but the end result shows that majority of women are subjected to harassment in one form or the other, may be on the name of dowry or for any other lame excuse. We as a society owe a moral responsibility to bring awareness amongst all to do away with this social evil.

A: Ghulam Nabi Azad is heading a coalition Government comprising of Congress and PDP as its partners. The first three years of coalition dispensation were headed by Mufti Mohd Sayeed, who initiated various measures which started yielding fruit, and the measures did not stop becoming fruitful even after change of guard and Azad coming at the helm of affairs as head of the State. Several historical decisions have been taken by Ghulam Nabi Azad under his stewardship. Whosoever comes at the helm of affairs, the concern of the people should be to see whether their respective areas were being developed or not.

Q: In Board examinations when the answers of the questions can be written in five to six pages, then what is the need of providing atleast 20 pages answer sheets to the candidates?
A: Answering the questions depends upon individual capacity of a student, some of them may be putting in large gaps between two words so as to consume more space in answer sheets, while there may be others, who would be preferring to give short specific answers thus negating the audit versions before making those public.

A: You have asked such a question which involves various aspects of a married life. It seems to me as during the first year, it is Tu Tu and Main Tu. During the second year their conversation become more pronounced like Tu and Main and when the third years of their marriage starts, there also starts Tu Tu and Main Main and what happen in the fourth year could be any body’s guess, but still the life goes on, may be on certain compromises or adjustments.

A: The real life is not like a Bollywood based story of a film, but as far as saving the life of my family members, I would prefer to lay down my life before any of the member of my family is hurt in any way. After receiving such a threat I would first of all inform the police and then mobilize my own resources to fight the menace instead of only banking on police action, which is otherwise always delayed.

You should in place of equating the women with serpents etc, must realize that you are on this earth because of your mother, who is also a woman. You should bear in mind that females in our society have various roles like that of a mother, the grand mother, sister and above all a daughter which is always dear to father. Even if your question is given weight, bear in mind that if a woman rises above all partisan things she has the power to thwart designs of even Yamraj.

Q: Do you think that Kashmir dispute is rare in the world history in which more than one lakh people have died in long sixty year turmoil in the sub-continent?
A: No. I don’t think so. Kashmir after its accession with Union of India became a part of the country in 1948, but the neighbouring country could not digest the same and first of all launched a war in the name of tribals raids, then in 1965 and 1971. The things did not end there as once again Pakistani army ventured out in Kargil about nine years back and the result is before all of us as also the world community. The solution, if any, to the vexed issue, has to be found out by the Kashmiris without looking towards any external force. And the day the so-called Kashmiri leadership realizes the same, the issue would die its own death.

Q: Current Assembly session resulted in wastage of money. Why don’t our elected representatives take the conduct of business in the Assembly seriously and cooperate for smooth functioning of the same?
A: Earlier we used to watch the proceedings of Parliament alive where free for all scenes used to be created and our heads used to be down with shame, but when such scenes continue to be witnessed in State Assembly and the people of the State watching the proceedings alive, where should a common man hide his face can be the guess of any one. All one can do is to pray that all good senses prevailed upon our leaders so that they could spare some time for the welfare of the common people in place of fighting their party politics in the august House.
