SRINAGAR, Aug 20: Senior PDP leader and former Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni filed a defamation suit against the Congress legislator.
Madni told Excelsior that Congress MLA from Devsar Assembly segment, Mohammad Amin Bhat, has accused him of acquiring property worth crores of rupees illegally and has also alleged that “I have assets in Dubai.” Madni said that the allegations were far from reality and were purely figment of imaginations bearing no truth.

Madni said he had hoped that Congress leader would realize his mistake and would seek apology but unfortunately he didn’t do so, leaving him (Madni) with no option other than to file the defamation suit.
He said that he formally submitted the defamation suit in the court of Principle District and Sessions Judge Anantnag against Bhat today.
“Let he come and prove his allegations against me. I will leave not only politics but also Jammu and Kashmir State if he proves these allegations against me”, Madni said.
