Madhya Pradesh drubs J&K by 56 runs

JAMMU, Feb 17: Formidable Madhya Pradesh defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 56 runs in the ongoing Men’s Cricket Under-23 One Day Tournament at KL Saini Stadium, Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Madhya Pradesh scored a good total of 270 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Parth Goswami top scored with 86 runs off 123 balls, studded with 9 delectable boundaries, while Nikhil Mishra and Yash Dubey contributed 51 runs each. Mishra scored the runs off 66 balls with the help of 5 fours, while Dubey scored the runs off 45 balls including 4 boundaries. From Jammu and Kashmir, Abid Mushtaq took 2 wickets, while Sahil Lotra, Auqib Nabi, Irfan Haq and Imtiyaz Ahmed Ganai took 2 one wickets each.
In reply, Jammu and Kashmir managed to score 214 runs in 43.1 overs, thus lost the match by 56 runs. Jiyaad Nazir Magray top scored with 78 runs off 86 balls, studded with 9 crispy boundaries, while Auqib Nabi and Kanhaiya Wadhawan contributed 32 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Irfan Haq, Sahil Lotra, Nipun Verma and Abid Mushtaq chipped in with 17, 14, 13 and 12 runs respectively. From Madhya Pradesh, Aryaman Vikram Birla took 3 wickets, while Rajarshi Srivatsava and Shubam Kaithwas bagged 2 wickets each. Pankaj Patel and Satyam Dubey also claimed one wicket each.
With this win, Madhya Pradesh got 4 points, while J&K failed to secure any point.
