Machail Mata Yatra crosses last year’s mark, Charri reaches Massu

KISHTWAR, Aug 20: The Machail Mata Yatra crossed the last year mark of 1.70 lakh today with the holy mace (Charri Mubarak) reaching Massu this evening from Atholi Padder.
As per official data, a total of 1,71,411 pilgrims including 73496 males, 63507 females, 34286 children and 122 sadhus have paid obeisance at the shrine till date since the commencement of Yatra on July 25, 2018. Around 21000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the sacred shrine of Machail Mata today. The number will increase considerably in the coming days as huge number of pilgrims are reaching Kishtwar and Gulabgarh, the base camp of the shrine, everyday.
Meanwhile, thousand of devotees including women and children accompanied the Charri Mubarak from Atholi to Jawala Mata Temple. In the afternoon, the Charri reached Gulabgarh and in the evening at Massu for night half.
Tomorrow, the Charri Mubarak will leave from Massu and after night halt at Chisoti will reach the sacred shrine of Machail Mata.
It is worthwhile to mention that this year, local people of Kishtwar and its adjoining areas have voluntarily arranged langars and other facilities for the pilgrims at maximum number of halting points.
