Lt Gen Pannu is new GOC Leh

JAMMU, Aug 25: Lt Gen PJS Pannu has been appointed as new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Leh based 14 Corps. He will replace Lt Gen SK Patyal, who has been posted as Director General Military Intelligence (DGMI).
Lt Gen Pannu will take over the charge of prestigious 14 Corps very soon. Leh Corps has large responsibility with Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China and Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen JS Cheema, GOC 11 Corps, who was looking after the charge of GOC-in-C Western Command after the retirement of Lt Gen K J Singh, has been posted as DG Infantry. Lt Gen GS Sehrawat will be new GOC 11 Corps vice Lt Gen Cheema.
However, the Ministry of Defence and Army Headquarters have not issued formal orders of any officer as the Western Command chief so far though Lt Gen Surinder Singh, presently GOC 33 Corps, was tipped to be new GOC-in-C of Western Command.
