LS adjourned till noon after ruckus over Ram Temple and Cauvery farmers’ woes

NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon after ruckus over Ram Temple and Cauvery farmers issues after the House made obituary references to the former members who breathed last during the inter session period.
The House could not take up the listed questions. The House could function for only about 15 minutes during the Question Hour when the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan made obituary references in honour of former members including the likes of N D Tiwari, Gurudas Kamat, Madan Lal Khurana and C K Jaffer Sharief. As soon as the Speaker made the obituary references, members from AIADMK rushed to the well of the House carrying placards those demanded “protection” of rights of the Cauvery basin farmers in Tamil Nadu.
Several Shiv Sena members were up on their feet raising slogans and carrying placards that said: “Har Hindu Ka yeh hi pukar, Pahele Mandir, phir Sarkar (Every Hindus want Ram Temple first and then the issues of governance and government formation can come)”.
Two newly elected MPs from Karnataka – V S Ugrappa (Congress) and L R Shivarame Gowda (JD-S) – also took as the members of the House earlier.
The House also homage to Mansoor Ali Khan, Puran Chandra, P Manik Reddy, Mohan Jain, Shantaram Potdukhe, Kamla Kumari and Narayan Swaroop Sharma. (AGENCIES)
