LPU Mittal School of Business ranked ahead of IIMs, Punjab University

JALANDHAR, Apr 13: MHRD’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked LPU Mittal School of Business among the top 40 and LPU Pharmacy Department 26th in India.
LPU Mittal School of Business has been ranked No 1 in India; far ahead of all IIMs in the ‘Outreach and Inclusively’ category.
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) had released its ‘NIRF-2018’ rankings at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, recently.
In the Management rankings, LPU Mittal School of Business (MSoB) has been ranked among the Top 40 B-Schools in India, rubbing shoulders with IIM Ahmedabad and IIT New Delhi. In the Punjab region, LPU’s Management Department is ranked No 1, even ahead of Punjab University and leaving IIM Ranchi, BITs and many other National Institutions affiliated under Government of India behind.
In the ‘Outreach and Inclusivity’ category, LPU has been ranked No 1, beating all the IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore.
LPU Pharmacy Department has also been ranked 26th among the 286 participating institutions in India, leaving behind 183 years old Madras Medical College and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Illustrative, ‘NIRF-2018’ is the third edition by MHRD in which a total of 2,809 institutions participated for various rankings. Out of a total of 487 institutions participating in the management category, MHRD has announced the list of top 50 institutions in India. The criteria adopted for finalizing the performance of various institutions is based on five parameters. These are: Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practices; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and, Perception.
Feeling immensely happy on LPU being ranked among the top institutions in the prestigious Ministry of HRD’s NIRF ranking, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal observed, “Such prestigious rankings encourage us all at LPU to keep on working hard, unflinchingly. On seeing our two departments among the top in India, I feel extremely proud of both my students and staff members.”
