LPGEF organizes provincial committee meet, projects demands

JAMMU, Mar 30: All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPGEF) organized a provincial committee meeting, which was presided over by Jagdish Raj, provincial president of the Federation.
The meeting was attended by representatives from its federal units of Jammu province, associations and units affiliated with the Federation.
During the meeting, it was unanimously resolved that the Federation will organize a rally in the last week of April to highlight various burning common as well as sectional grievances of State employees, pensioners and daily rated workers.
Abdul Majid Khan, State president of the federation while speaking said that the previous coalition Government failed to bring down the prices of the essential commodities. He added that the present coalition Government released 17 per cent DA but continued the process of impounding the payment of the arrears in GP Fund Accounts of the employees.
He impressed upon the Government to implement the recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission, release the pending amount of 6th Pay Commission arrears on priority basis, revision of minimum daily wage to Rs 350, remuneration to village guards at par with minimum daily wage, equal honorarium to numberdars, anganwadi workers, helpers, ReT Teachers, and education volunteer as also regularization of daily rated workers.
He also demanded enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, extension of leave encashment benefits to teachers, removal of pay anomalies of head, senior and junior assistants, merger of 50 per cent DA in basic pay/pension and DPC meetings in all the departments twice a year.
