JAMMU, Jan 10: All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) has demanded the Government to immediately release pending wages of teachers working under SSA and RMSA schemes and daily wagers of various departments.
In a press release issued here, LPEF president, Abdul Majid Khan, said that teachers working under centrally sponsored schemes like SSA and RMSA are without salary for months together while Need Based and Casual Workers in PDD, PHE and other departments have not been paid their wages for last more than three years for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities.
He said that one cannot imagine what type of hardships these workers and their families have to suffer especially when the prices of essential commodities are soaring day by day. “All these workers are agitating for their rights by participating in dharnas, rallies and demonstration under the banner of Federation but their voice did not reach to the deaf years of the authorities”, he added.
Khan threatened to intensify the struggle further in case the Government do not respond positively soon in order to save these employees and their families from starvation.
