Low Paid Employees Federation discusses arrangements for rally

JAMMU, Apr 25: All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation is finalizing arrangements for the proposed massive march cum rally on April 29, the eve of May Day.
The arrangements were discussed during a meeting of the Federation, held under the chairmanship of its president Com Abdul Majid Khan.
The meeting was informed that employees would take out a procession from Parade Ground and after passing through main bazaars, a massive rally will be held at the Shahidi Chowk.
While addressing the meeting, Majid Khan threw light on the history of May Day. He appealed the workers and employees to participate in the schedule rally for exhibiting their strength and unity.
The Federation general secretary Krishan Singh also addressed the meeting and highlighted various demands of the employees. He alleged that the Central and State Governments were pursuing anti-people and anti-working class policies with the result that prices were sky rocketing.
The Federation members in the meeting reiterated their demands, which include merger of 50 percent DA in basic pay, release of 6th Pay Commission arrears on the Central pattern, enhancement in the Medical Allowance to Rs 1000, increase in the retirement age etc.
