REASI, Apr 8: Continuing their agitation under the banner of Ban Toll Andolan Samiti, members of the Samiti along with locals of Salal today held a protest demonstration against charging extra toll from Reasi number vehicles.
The protesting people raised slogans against the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and threatened to further intensify the ongoing agitation. They took out a protest march in Salal and also torched an effigy of NHAI.
The protestors lamented that they approached all the concerned authorities for reducing toll rate being charged from Reasi number vehicles but all in vain. “Now we have decided to continue our agitation and intensify the same if toll rates are not reduced and passes issued to Reasi number vehicles,” they warned and further threatened that protest demonstrations will be held across the Reasi district in coming days.
