REASI, June 29: A team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD), Reasi under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi-Rajesh Heera conducted market checking and realized a fine of Rs. 8000 from traders found violating the market regulation rules.
The team inspected general stores, mutton & chicken shops, karyana stores, fruit and vegetable vendors, rehriwalas, sweet shops in Reasi, Katra and Mahore.
The team booked seven traders for violation of various provisions of J&K Weights and Measure (Enforcement) Act 1977 and Packages Commodities Rules.
The market checking was conducted in view of ongoing holy month of Ramadhan as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Sushma Chauhan.
The team directed all the traders to use only stamped and verified Weights and Measures instruments for business transactions and ensure that all the package commodities sold to the consumers must bear MRP, Package Date, Net Contents and Consumer Care Number.
