Life beyond cricket

Sir,
Not only in cricket  but India is equally good in badminton,  chess, hockey and in kabaddi either. While every Indian cricket team fan on this planet, regardless of which corner or time zone he or she is in, is mourning the terrible loss of the ICC Champions Trophy cricket final, a small percentage were vaguely aware that there was also some historical hockey moment to celebrate.
On the very same day ,in the same city ,India thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan 7-1 in the Hockey World League semi-final and bettered their previous margin of beating Pakistan twice 7-4. First in 2003 Champions Trophy in Amsterdam and later in 2010 Commonwealth games at New Delhi.
It was an outstanding  performance by the Indians who dominated their arch-rivals throughout the match, rooted them out to post a facile win. It took team India 35 years to avenge the humiliating defeat they suffered twice in 1980 (Champions trophy) in Karachi and more shamefully in 1982 Delhi Asian Games with a margin of 7-1.
This is India’s first largest victory of the highest order to record biggest win over Pakistan.
Don’ we have more to celebrate?
Yours etc….
