DODA, Jan 11: Licenses of 22 retail/wholesale outlets in twin districts of Chenab valley i.e. Doda/Kishtwar was suspended and their operations were disallowed by Drugs & Food Control Organization for committing breaches of the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules there under.
The action was taken following a surprise check by a team constituted by Lotika Khajuria, Controller, Drugs & Food Control Organization. The team carried out surprise supervisory checks of more than 80 retail outlets situated in the rural belts of Doda and Kishtwar districts viz. Bhaderwah, Thathri, Drabshalla, Pathri, Karrah, Prem Nagar, Kandni, Khellani, Jakyas, Bhatyas, Kellar, Dunadhi, Gandoh, Kishtwar, etc.
The firms whose licenses suspended and operations disallowed are M/s Fair Price Medical Shops, DH Kishtwar; M/s Arif Medicos, DH Kishtwar; M/s Mohammadia Medical Shop, DH Kishtwar ; M/s Eisa Medical Shop, DH Kishtwar; M/s ICU Medicate Shop, Faridia Chowk, Kishtwar; M/s Asraria Medical Shop, opposite DBN, Kishtwar; M/s Sheikh Pharmacy, Kandani, Kishtwar; M/s Ashraf Medical Hall, Drabshalla, Kishtwar; M/s Nawaz Medical Hall, Kahara; M/s Iqra Medical Stores, Kahara; M/s Javed Medical Hall, Kahara; M/s Sheikh Medicate, DH, Doda; M/s Dar Ul Shifa Medicos, Bathri; M/s Arif Medical Hall, Gandoh; M/s Rohit Pharmacy, DH, Doda; M/s Asriya Medical Shop, Thatri, M/s Manhas Medicates, Thathri, M/s Butt Medical Hall, Pranoo; M/s Mir Medicos, Bhalla, Bhaderwah; M/s Om Medical Hall, Sarthangla, Bhaderwah; M/s Dina Nath & Sons, Bhaderwah and M/s Asaria Medicate, Rambagh, Dandi, Bhaderwah.
Moreover, statutory drug samples of 34 formulations viz Antibiotics, PPI, Steroids, NSAIDs etc were drawn to check the identity, strength and purity of these drugs. These samples were referred to State Drug Testing Laboratories for framing legal opinion to ascertain their quality parameters.
