KATHUA, Sept 30: Expressing grave concern over hardship being faced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today regretted that during the last four years woes of the common masses have compounded manifold due to wrong policies of the National Conference-led coalition regime.
Addressing series of public meetings at Chadwal, Langate, Ghati, Hatli and Kathua areas in connection with the visit of the patron of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed at Mahanpur in Basholi on October 7, general secreatry of PDP Thakur Balbir Singh asked the State Government to solve problems of the youth who have been engaged under Rehbar-e-Talim and Rehbar-e-Ziarat.He demanded their salaries should be hiked.
Pointing towards backwardness in the most parts of Kathua, he said that successive NC regimes were never serious about providing basic amenities and leaders of this party (NC) always tried to befool the people by raking up emotive issues. “History is testimony to the fact that NC leaders always bartered interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to remain in power”, Singh said and rued that present generation of the NC leadership is also adopting the same policy and trying to befool the people.
He charged NC leadership with propagating divide and rule policy in the State to divert attention of the people towards their failure. “Like previous NC regimes the present Government headed by Omar Abdullah is also adopting the policy of raking up emotive issues to divert people’s attentions towards its failure”, he observed and added that during the last about four years this regime has done nothing and this Government is surviving on false promises and deceitful tactics.
“One and the only achievement of this Government is legalization of corruption”, he said and added that the young Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has created a history by heading a worst ever corrupt Government in the State.
