Lecturers Forum highlights demands

UDHAMPUR, Mar 19: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, district president of the Forum.
During the meeting, speakers demanded revocation of Govt. Order No 66 -Edu of 2017 Dt 16th Feb, 2017, issued by the School Education Department, wherein the teachers who have obtained their degrees through distance mode will have to appear for screening test to get next promotion.
They also demanded regularization of incharge incumbents in the School Education Department. They also expressed concern over the training of teachers at the peak of the session and demanded that the training of all the teaching staff be invariably conducted in summer/winter vacations only so that academic activities of students are not affected. They also resented the deployment of junior officials from JKBOSE, Revenue, Forest and other departments as Inspectors to inspect the exam centres of 12th class, whose superintendents are Sr Lecturers and lecturers who are much superior in rank to the Inspectors appointed. They said that dignity of the lecturers should be maintained at any cost and such inspectors be removed and senior officers from the School Education Department and JKBOSE teams led by not below the rank of Asstt .Secretary be appointed to inspect exam centres of the 12th class.
The meet also flayed the order by which Lecturers have been appointed as Superintendents of 9th class exam (T2). The speakers also rued that the SSRB has paid no remuneration to the officers and officials engaged for the conduct of screening test held in September 2014 for recruitment of teachers and other officials whose basic qualification had been prescribed as 10+2 and demanded that a probe should be ordered into the matter.
Prominent among those, who spoke on the occasion, included Arunesh Kumar, Rajinder Gupta, Ram Murti, Ashwani Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Bishan Sharma, Ravi Kanchan, Rakeshwar Sharma, Veena Rani and others.
