Lecture on ‘Revisiting 26/11 in Present Context’ organized in CUJ

JAMMU, Nov 27: The Department of National Security Studies (DNSS), Central University of Jammu (CUJ),  organized a special lecture on the “Revisiting 26/11 in Present Context”, delivered by Brig  Rajan Jamwal, GoC, NCC HQ, Jammu.
While the event was conducted in memory of the victims of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Brig Rajan narrated the three-day terror strikes as it unfolds and response provided by the security forces.
During the program, Prof  Deepsheekha, Head, Department of Mass Communication and New Media (DMCNM),  explained the overall picture of 26/11 attack.
Faculties,  including T K  Singh, Assistant Professor from DNSS and Dr  Bachha Babu, Assistant Professor from DMCNM,  also participated in the lecture as speakers.
T K  Singh deliberated the importance of sharing intelligence in counter terrorism and also highlighted  the responsibilities of secret agencies as the first line of defense in curbing terrorism.
Understanding the intricate role of media coverage on terrorism, world communication system and its  geo-politics,  Dr   Bachha Babu elucidated the biasness of terror reporting in different places (Western, Eastern or African countries).
After a detailed discussion, the program concluded with closing remark by Dr Jeganaathan.
