Lead futures up on spot demand, overseas cues

NEW DELHI, Apr 23:  Lead futures rose by 0.53 per cent today to Rs 132.80 per kg on rising spot demand and positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May traded higher by 70 paise, or 0.53 per cent, at Rs 132.80 per kg, with a turnover of 65 lots.
The metal for delivery in April also rose by 65 paise, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 131.65 per kg in a turnover of 722 lots.
Marketmen said besides rising demand from battery-makers, a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME), influenced lead prices at futures trade. (PTI)
