Laway releases Bedil’s ‘Dag’

JAMMU, Jan 15: ‘Dag’-a collection of Kashmir poems written by P.N Koul (Bedil) was released by Nazir Ahmad Laway Member Parliament (RS) at Jagti township near here today.
The author of the book is a well known writer, dramatist, Poet and actor. His popular works are Laola Majloon, Kral koor, Shereen Farhad, Hemal Nagrai etc. The release of the book “Dag” was an initiative taken by Pamposh Theatre and organized by Dainposh Koul Publication. The various dignitaries who spoke on the occasion were Dr. R.L. Bhat president Samprati presided over the function.
Nazir Ahmed Laway who was the chief guest of the function spoke on the occasion in detail about his experiences with Bedil as a teacher. Laway said author was a teacher par excellence. He himself was a fervent student of Bedil. He is a great writer, actor, singer, dramatist and a good cricketer also. He added that Bedil is a multifaceted personality.
Dr Bhat read the research paper on the book and discussed its various technical aspects. His critical analysis about the book was acclaimed by the . audience. Prof. O.N. Koul academician and social worker threw light on the life of Poshker Nath Koul (Bedil) the author of the book. He shared his childhood experiences with the audience and got nostalgic while relating his experiences with the writer during his college days.
Prof. Koul went ahead by saying that Bedil was much ahead of his tones. It was the period of seventies when the author was in full bloom.
Pardasi got little emotional while relating his father Sham Lal Pardesi a renowned writer and poet bounding with the author.
The vote of thanks was given by Tejkrishan Sagar. His presentation kept the audience hooked to the dice and was applauded repeatedly by the masses.
The function ended with a popular gazal in the book of “Dayo Taqdeer Myonie Yell Che lyokhtum” written by Bedil. It was sung by Raj Nath Raina.
