Law to take its own course: Soz

JAMMU, Apr 27: While avoiding direct reply on the scandals in which some Congress Ministers are alleged to be connected, former Union Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee  president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz today said that law will take it own course and the concerned agencies were already working on the issue.
Talking to media-persons at the sidelines of a function organised by OBCs at Kashyap Rajput Sabha here today, Prof Soz though avoided a direct response to the sharp questions of the media-persons regarding infightings between the two Congress Ministers and allegedly associating their names with sub-standard drugs and PHE pipes/ CCDU scandals, yet maintained that law will take its own course. The agencies were already working on the matter and the high command was seized of the matter.
While playing down the issue of mud-slinging by two senior Congress Ministers, the PCC chief said Congress is a democratic party and in democracy these are petty issues and can be resolved.
Replying to yet another question regarding non-implementation of 73rd Amendment in the Panchayati Raj Act Prof Soz said such issues take some time and it has already been decided in the Coordination Committee meetings. Congress has already cleared its stand on the issue.
When asked that many decisions taken in Coordination Committee meetings are not implemented by National Conference, the PCC chief said on Urban Local Bodies Elections, June 30, 2013  is the deadline and it is hoped that the elections will take place within time as already decided in the Coordination Committee meet. “We believe in following Coalition Dharma’’, he maintained.
On being asked whether Coalition will last its term and both parties will contest polls jointly, the PCC chief said as of now, both Congress and NC are in Coalition but the final decisions on the ‘issues’ will be taken by the high commands of both the parties, keeping in view their interests.
Earlier, addressing function organized by OBC leader Vaishno Dutt Dogra at Moti Bazar here today, the PCC chief said that Congress Party is the custodian of the principles of secularism and harmony amongst various sections of society. This can be achieved by ensuring that each community or section is getting its due in every sphere of life. He said down trodden and weaker sections are the strength of the Congress Party.
While referring to setting up of OBC Board, the Congress leader said that party has taken various measures for the upliftment of  this section of society. He also assured to address the issues of the Biradari.
Former minister R S Chib, Vaishno Dogra,  Kuldip Verma and others also spoke on the occasion. Prominent among others present included  Ravinder Sharma-MLC, Rani Gargi Billoria-MLC, Swarn Lata Chairperson SC Board, Om Chopra, Lal Mohd Sabir, Manjit Singh, Shivdev Singh, Narinder Singh, Ashwani Puri, Manmohan Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Rashid Choudhary, Pranav Shagotra, Neeraj Gupta, Ravi Singh and Sanjay Sawhney.
