Law & order situation deteriorating in J&K: DSS

JAMMU, Sept 28: Dogra Sadar Sabha has expressed  serious concern about losses suffered by the State due to deteriorating law and order problems.
An extra ordinary meeting of the working committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K was convened today under the chairmanship of its president, Gulchain Singh Charak ( former minister)
The meeting commenced with paying tributes to the 18 martyrs of Uri terrorists attack.  The members of working committee reviewed the present law and order situation in the State in detail and expressed their concern about the situation prevailing in the Valley. They stressed for immediate steps to restore the law and order at the earliest as the deadlock has badly affected the economy of the State. If the trend is not arrested and normalcy not restored immediately the people of the State shall face lot of hardships.
Besides this, various organizational and developmental issues also came under discussion. The meeting resolved to project that   a heart rendering `Shradhanjali’ will be paid to the 18 martyrs of the cowardly Pakistan sponsored terrorist attack on the unarmed sleeping soldiers.   The committee strongly recommended an immediate release of the ex-gratia relief to the families of the Uri martyrs, clearing of all pending ex-gratia cases at par with other States and release of sanctioned but pending routine annuity amounts to the war widows and the brave warriors.
The members condemned Pakistan in strong words and demanded stern action and immediate abrogation of the Indus Water Treaty. Committee noted with great concern that even after the assurance of the Chief Minister Mufti as the Chairperson of the Jammu Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society, nothing has moved on the ground. The condition of the dilapidated buildings is further deteriorating with each flash of rains. Members demanded for its immediate opening to the general public and the tourists to get glimpses of the vanishing treasure of this heritage.
Prominent among others present included Dr NK Dogra, Col (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal,  Prem Sagar Gupta, Janak Khajuria, GD Singh Charak, Brig MS Jamwal (Retd), Chhatter Singh,  Jagdeep Singh, J S Mangal,  Prof Ayyub Khan and Ravi Singh Slathia.
