Lal Singh inspects health facilities at SDH Akhnoor

JAMMU, Mar 30: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh today inspected the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor.
MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma, Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania besides other senior officers of Health Department including Sarpanchs and Panchs accompanied the Minister.
Ch Lal Singh directed the medicos and paramedics to remain present in the health institutions as per duty roasters, adding that absence during duty hours would be viewed seriously.
The Minister went round the hospital and inspected the patient care facilities available with different sections. He also interacted with the patients and inquired about the healthcare services being provided to them. He gave directions to the concerned for further improvement in sanitation in and around the hospital. He also issued strict orders for providing free treatment facilities to the expecting mothers and infants besides to and fro transport facilities to them under JSSY.
Ch Lal Singh emphasized the need for effective implementation of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) flagship programme to ensure universalization of health services in rural areas.
The Minister said that health infrastructure being developed in the State is aimed at expanding healthcare facilities to every nook and corner of the State. He called for better coordination among the executing agencies and the concerned departments for improved results on the ground.
He directed the hospital authorities to personally monitor the stock of medicine’s and facilities being provided to the ailing people. He asked them to also review the difficulties of the people with regard to healthcare so that the genuine problems are mitigated on priority basis.
The Minister said that focus is being laid on strengthening the existing health institutions, particularly in far-off areas to ensure best possible medicare to the patients. He said he is making all out efforts to post required medical staff in the health institutions across the state. He informed that all the DHs, SDHs, PHCs, CHCs, Sub-Centres and dispensaries would be provided adequate staff and equipped with latest facilities.
