UDHAMPUR, May 15: Minister for Health, Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Choudhary Lal Singh inaugurated the 3-day Moungri Mela at Sar Dabber (Moungri), here today.
The 3-days Moungri Mela commenced with great enthusiasm, fervour and gaiety. A large number of visitors arrived at Sar Dabber (Moungri) in Panchari block of district Udhampur on the first day of three days Moungri Mela.
He also appealed the gathering to generate awareness among the common masses to educate the girls and stressed for saving the girl child besides asked them to uproot the menace of foeticide of girl child.
The Minister accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ajay Singh Jamwal, had a round of stalls installed by various departments for general awareness of different schemes. Minister called upon the officers to make their sincere and dedicated efforts to make the general public aware about the different Central and State Government schemes.
He said that the aim of the present regime is to strengthen PHC and NTPHC across the state at par with city hospitals.
Later, he paid obeisance at the holy Shiv Parvati Cave Shine and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state.
Earlier, Minister also inspected health care facilities being provided to the people atTikri and Pathi Pangara PHCs.
He directed medical and paramedical officials to remain present round the clock in the health institutions so that the people do not face any inconvenience.
He also issued instructions for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness around the hospitals.
