Lal Singh convenes public grievances redressal camp

KATHUA, Oct 1: Terming awareness as key to achieve the objective of several state and centrally sponsored welfare and development schemes, Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology Ch Lal Singh today exhorted upon the need of further intensifying the awareness programmes in all parts of the district.
The Minister, while addressing a public grievances redressal camp, asked the officers to educate the people about all the welfare and development schemes being implemented by the Government for their socio-economic empowerment.
He said the schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Atal Pension Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojna, MGNREGA, Laadli Beti Yojna, Ujjwala etc are result oriented and social security schemes which must reach to every eligible individual. He asked Rural Development Department to adopt a proactive approach towards educating people about latest schemes and programmes. He called for mobilising men and machinery to coordinate awareness camps and drives regarding nature, scope and eligibility under various welfare schemes.
Ch Lal Singh called upon the youth to opt skill development programmes being offered by different Government departments and agencies to establish their own income generating units.
The Minister said that directions were given to the concerned agencies to conduct fresh survey of BPL so that deserving families don’t remain deprived of their rights.
During the camp, a Gram Sabha was also organized in which different departments participated and informed the people about the schemes.
ACD Kathua Rajiv Khajuria assured that the department will organise more such Gram Sabhas with involvement of different departments for larger interest of the under privileged segments of the society.
