Lakhanpur Police foils 2 bovine smuggling bids, rescues 22 animals

KATHUA, Jan 24: Lakhanpur Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid today by rescuing 22 bovine animals at two places.
According to police on a specific information a Police team of Lakhanpur Police Station laid special naka at Golden Gate Lakhanpur and intercepted a truck bearing registration No JK04A/7930 plying from Punjab to Srinagar. The truck was carrying 12 bovines. The police rescued all the animals.
In this regard a case FIR No 10 /2017 U/S 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered
In the evening Lakhanpur Police on another specific information laid a special Naka at Old Toll Plaza Lakhanpur and intercepted and seized a truck bearing registration No JK02AR /3585 carrying 10 bovines. All the bovines were rescued by the police.
A case FIR No 11/2017 U/S 188 RPC and 3 PCA ACT has been registered in this regard by the police.
Both the operations were conducted by Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary, SHO Lakhanpur Police Station under the supervision of DySP Kuljeet Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Khalil Poswal and SSP, Kathua Pawan Parihar.
