KATHUA, Sept 1: The Lakhanpur Police during a routine checking today at Toll Post Lakhanpur arrested a smuggler and recovered six kgs of Bhang Patta (moulded) from his possession.
According to police during routine checking at Toll Post Lakhanpur, a Police party of Police Station Lakhanpur headed by Inspector Anuroop Sharma, SHO PS Lakhanpur intercepted one bus bearing registration No. UP 70ET-6565 plying from Delhi towards Jammu.
During checking of Bus, one suspicious person carrying bag alighted from the bus and tried to give a slip to Police Party. The active Police personnel, nabbed the suspicious person and during the search, six Kg Bhang Patta (Moulded) was recovered from the possession of Tawi Kumar S/o Amar Singh R/o H.No. 345, Majunu Ka Tilla, Aruna Nagar, Civil Line Zone Delhi 1154.
He has been taken into custody and a case FIR No. No. 63/2015 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Lakhanpur and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
