Ladakh getting hotter than Jammu, Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Leh and Kargil in Ladakh region have turned more hotter than Kashmir valley and Jammu region, where the mercury witnessed major drop due to rain during the past 24 hours.         

A Met department spokesperson said here this evening that light to moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours. 

In the subsequent two days, rain and thundershower is likely to occur in the State, he said.         Interestingly, weather remained warmer in Leh and Kargil against Kashmir valley and Jammu region, where the mercury was two to 10 degrees below normal due to moderate to heavy rains during the past 24 hours.       

He said Leh recorded 32.7 degree maximum temperature today, highest in the region followed by border town of Kargil on Srinagar-Jammu national highway 30.8 degrees. There is a possibility of light rain or thundershowers and maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 29 degrees and 15 degrees respectively during the next 24 hours in Leh. (AGENCIES)
