SRINAGAR, July 27: A labourer has died while cleaning a well at Handwara in North Kashmir, while three others have been rescued in an unconscious condition.He has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Hajam son of Abdul Ahad of Batkoot, Handwara.
A police spokesman said four labourers had gone deep to clean a well in Batpora village in Handwara, but none of them came out.
Alarmed by the incident, some locals immediately called police and fire services men.
The joint team of police and fire services men brought out all the four labourers in unconscious state from the well.
All of them were shifted to SDH Handwara where Fayaz Ahmad Hajam was declared dead, police said, adding, the other three have been referred to Srinagar Hospital for further treatment.
