JAMMU, Feb 27: The dead body of a female labourer working in a brick kiln in Bishnah area was today found under mysterious circumstance from a well near her workplace.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased labourer was identified as Shama Bai (30) wife of Shiv Charan, resident of Rohina, tehsil Bilaigarh, district Baloda Bazaar (Chhattisgarh) and was presently working in a brick kiln at Chak Mian Sahab Singh, Bishnah.
He said that the body was first noticed by a local, who saw some saree flowing in the well and informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for post mortem.
“The inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in this connection at police station Bishnah”, he said.
