Kurl-on to double its product portfolio

JAMMU, Dec 12: Kurl-on, which reported a turnover of Rs 1,050 crore in 2017-18, is aiming at a turnover of Rs 1,350 crore in FY19 by further expanding its market share by increasing focus and catering to the next-gen, young Indian consumers with a slew of innovative products and technology, besides launching exclusive high-end products for the premium and affluent market.
“Over 75 percent of the population doesn’t use modern branded mattress which in itself is an opportunity for our long term goal. We expect these new market demographics to contribute to a significant 25 percent of its total sales in the next three years. From being a brand synonymous with mattresses, we are emerging to provide holistic home comfort solutions, including home furniture & furnishings and this segment has seen a significant 25 percent growth in sales over the last year,” said Sudhakar Pai, Chairman and MD, Kurl-on.
He further informed that the company was investing 200 crores in innovation and new technology to double their product portfolio in the next two years; to consolidate brand’s growth in home furniture and furnishings segment.
Kurl-on is India’s leading & largest selling mattress, home furniture and furnishing brand in India. The company was founded in 1962 by Ramesh Pai and Sudhakar Pai, currently the Chairman and Managing Director who took charge of the business in his current role in 2002.
The brand is available across India through 7000+ multi brand outlets, 920+ franchise outlets and 35 exclusive brand outlets across the country today. The company manufactures mattresses in 126 different configurations. Pan-India, they have partnered with a network comprising more than 10,000+ dealers, 72 branch & stock points and 10 strategically located manufacturing facilities across Karnataka, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Gujarat.
Earlier this year, the company launched its new sofa collection under its brand of home furniture & furnishings- ‘Home Komfort’, catering to the hitherto untapped semi-premium market in India. “We now have exclusive retail brands- ‘Kurl-on Homes’, targeting the larger mid to high price range purchasing consumers and ‘Home Komfort by Kurl-on’, targeting the premium customer market. Kurl-on plans to further strengthen its retail presence under these two brands this year,” Mr Pai informed.
