KU postpones exams for Jan 18, 19; suspends classes till Jan 29

SRINAGAR, Jan 17: Kashmir University (KU) has postponed all examinations scheduled to be held tomorrow and on Thursday due to moderate to heavy snowfall in the Kashmir Valley. The university has also suspended classes till January 29.
A KU spokesperson said that the university received representations from students that examinations be postponed in view of fresh snowfall in Kashmir, where wet weather is predicted during the next 48 hours.
Therefore, he said, the authorities have decided to postpone all examinations which were scheduled to be held on Wednesday and Thursday following fresh moderate to heavy snowfall in the Valley.
He said fresh dates for the postponed examinations will be notified separately.
The class-work has been suspended till January 29 in the university, where the administration had decided not to go for a winter break to compensate the academic losses suffered by the students due to unrest in the last over five months.
The university had earlier cancelled examinations which were scheduled to be held yesterday and today.
