KU announces fresh exam for ‘out of syllabus’ paper

Srinagar, Aug 9: Kashmir University (KU) today announced fresh examination of Urdu paper of B.A. Ist year (second semester) after students held strong protests here against ‘out of syllabus’ questions.
Hundreds of students from Women College, Amar Singh College and SP College appeared in press enclave here and staged protests against the ‘out of syllabus’ question paper. The students said that they were ‘shocked’ to see all the questions in their Urdu paper were not as per syllabus.

“This is gross injustice with us. We demand action against the concerned and re-examination,” said a student of Women College. The students also blocked the traffic movement and demanded intervention of top authorities. Soon after the protests, the Kashmir University announced new exams for the Urdu paper of B.A. Ist year (second semester).
In a communiqué, Kashmir University Public Relations Officer (PRO) said: “While we are examining complaints related to Urdu paper, a formal inquiry will be held to examine where the lapse (if any) has happened. But students are assured that their examination of the paper shall be held afresh and dates will be notified soon.”
