Krishi Vigyan Kendra to come up at Ramnagar soon: Pathania

RAMNAGAR, Sept 30: While conducting a whirlwind tour of Ramnagar and addressing a large public gathering at village Marta (Rashoul), MLA Ramnagar  Ranbir Singh Pathania  declared that a full-fledged Krishi Vigyan Kendra to be set up by ICAR in consultation with State Govt shall be coming up at Rashoul in village Marta.
Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) are established for supporting the rural farmers by transferring new technologies to them. The main function of KVKs are to undertake vocational training and on farm testing of the technologies related to Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and other allied activities.
Pathania informed the gathering that proposal to set up KVK at this place was mooted first time in 2008 but due to the casual and lackluster approach of the authorities-that-be and those at the helm of affairs, proposal could not see the light of the day. Immediately after being elected as MLA, Pathania raised the matter in Legislative Assembly and final call was taken up during the District Development Board Meeting on 02-07-2015.
Pathania also said that pathetic condition of Roun-Ramnagar and Langa – Rashoul roads had become a stumbling block in the establishment of KVK at Marta but now the matter has been resolved and work on improvement of these roads is under progress in full fling.
Later, the MLA reviewed the construction work on Marta-Dheeran road and exhorted upon executing and construction agencies for ensuring timely completion without compromising the quality of the work.
Pathania said that during past three years efforts have been made to ensure that stalled projects are restarted and handed over to public be it the Sattiyan Bridge or Nalla Mallian Bridge, University Campus, ITI or KVK. He said that all efforts are on to resume the pending work of University Campus and hand it over to the students. He also assured to start work on ITI at Ramnagar very shortly so that gospel of providing technical education and skill development training to youth of Ramnagar could be actualized at the earliest.
Besides party functionaries  and large number of gathering,  prominent among those present there, included Virinder Singh, Gian Chand, Bodh Raj, Ashok Kumar, Shamboo, Hem Raj, Jagdish Chander, Shiv Charan and others.
