KPs protest against murder of Langer, demand compensation

JAMMU, Nov 11: A peaceful protest demonstration was held near Press Club here today against the murder of Dileep Langer by some criminals at a marriage hall in Bohri, Talab Tillo few days back.
The protest was jointly organized by Rainawari KP Action Committee (RKPAC ) and All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in which heads of all the Kashmiri Pandit Organisations participated. Condemning the barbaric murder of Dileep Langer, a KP displaced person from Motiyar, Rainawari, Srinagar who had taken refuge at Nagrota, Jammu, the protestors demanded stern action under the law against criminals and adequate compensation to the family.
They said Langer was busy in performing the first celebrations in his family after he attained adulthood but the callous management facility in the K K Resort deprived him of seeing off his daughter which is the ultimate aim of an ordinary Indian citizen.

Community was in rage and expressed anguish and outrage for the cold blooded murder in K K Resorts, which was booked by him after paying huge amount to the owner. The KP community which was present in large numbers protested against the Government and the management of K K Resorts as it is reported by the community that there were many chain snatching events in past also and same has been reported to the management as well but nothing has been done to check the criminals entering in the banquet hall area. The community unanimously demanded justice to the bereaved family of Dileep Langer, fast track meaningful trial so that the criminals are booked as per appropriate sections of law, ban of bar in K K Resorts and compensation to the bereaved family.
As the entire community is shocked and feeling insecure, protesters appealed to the Government to have sympathy with the Langer family and take necessary steps to build the confidence of the KP community.
The protest demonstration was also attended by AIKS, Panun Kashmir, AMCC, Temple & Shrine Board, PNB Trust, Samajik Vikas Sansthan, Amar Balidhan Trust, ZDPC, Ganpatyar Temple Prabhandak Samiti, Global Foundation, Auckland, Voice of Kashmir, BJP and NC leaders.
The National Conference (NC) provincial president, Devender Singh Rana who also joined the protest expressed solidarity with the family, friends, relatives and mourners of Daleep Langer and termed his murder totally unfortunate.
“The death in most tragic but gruesome circumstances has shocked the civilized society of Jammu as a whole and such sort of lawlessness is worrisome for all”, Rana said while staging sit-in dharna along with a large number of people mostly belonging to Kashmiri Pandit community at Jammu Press Club this morning, protest against the dastardly act and as a mark of solidarity with the family.
He urged Governor Satya Pal Malik and Advisor A Vijay Kumar for ensuring fast track judicial dispensation of the murder and delivering justice to the family.
He supported the demand of the protesters for grant of adequate compensation and job to a member of the family, which is residing in his assembly constituency.
