JAMMU, Apr 25: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has demanded representation in the State Cabinet for minority Kashmiri Pandit community, which has not been given any representation in Council of Ministers since 2006 by successive Governments.
Addressing activists of the organization at New Delhi, president KPC, Kundan Kashmiri demanded Cabinet berth for the minority community of Kashmiri Pandits in the State, which has been ignored and isolated by the Government. He said KPs have voted and supported BJP. They are living a very hard life as internally displaced people from the last 30 years, having no representative in the Ministry to redress their grievances and problems. Kashmiri made an appeal to BJP national president Amit Shah as well as other BJP leaders to accept this demand of the community.
The meeting also demanded a CBI probe into the Rassana murder case to give justice to the victim and also demanded a similar thorough probe into the killing and torturing of KP women during turmoil in 1989 and 1990 in Kashmir valley. These victims never got justice from the 29 years of exile and no body in the State or outside has given serious heed or raised any voice to seek justice for these victims which is shameful and disgusting.
Kundan Kashmiri, also accused the State Government of not being sincere in deportation of the illegally settled Rohingyas and other foreigners from Jammu and claimed that they are the biggest threat to the communal harmony and composite culture as well as posing a demographic threat to Jammu region. He appealed the State and Central Governments to take serious look of this grave issue which is a cause of concern for the nationalist people.
