KP Joint Action holds intellectuals meet

JAMMU, Mar 11:An intellectuals’ meet was held by KP Intellectuals at the Press Club here today. The meet was attended by prominent intellectuals and activists of the displaced community which was presided over by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, chairman, KP Joint Action who also presented the key note address.
R.K.Bhat, president, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) gave details of the activities of the KP Joint Action. Those who participated in the programme included  A.K.Dewani, P.L.Budgami, J.L.Kaul, Swami Kumar Jee, B.L.Saraf, Prof. R.L.Kaul, Vijay Kashkari, Virender Rawal, Bimal Wantoo, K.L.Kuchroo, Comrade Mohan Lal,  Sardar Premsingh, KCS Mehta, Virender Raina, Upinder Kaul, Manoj Handoo, Sanjeev Kaul, Kamal Bagati and Ruskin Bhat. The meeting discussed the current socio-political scenario particularly the issue of the comprehensive political agenda presented to the government by the KP Joint Action.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, Panun Kashmir in his address said that it is the most opportune time when the political dispensation at the Centre has been strengthened by the massive mandate in the UP elections. The victory of the Modi Government has given a great boost to the nationalist forces in the J&K State who are engaged in a relentless struggle against the Jehadi forces. The Kashmiri Pandit Comprehensive Political Agenda needs to be put before the nation and the Government with renewed vigour and involvement of community activists, he added.
The opportunities those have been given by the circumstances need to be converted into a reality so far as the struggle in exile is concerned. The younger generations are to be involved in the struggle fully and a systematic activism is to be evolved. There is a massive surge in the nationalist opinion all across the country and the Pandits have contributed in creating a national consciousness over the last three decades of struggle. “We will continue our fight till our goals are achieved. We urge the displaced Pandit community to wholeheartedly support the comprehensive political agenda so that the Kashmiri Pandit issues get the attention they deserve”.
R.K.Bhat, president, Y A I K S, in his address lambasted the earlier governments for their failure in implementing several promises that were made to the community. He said that the KP Joint Action has no alternative and every displaced community member has developed a great hope in the leadership of the KP Joint Action. “We have the capacity to change the course of history during our life time and it is the time to do it”he added.
He said the present generation cannot wait for government to find lame excuses in regard to the KP issues”. What we want is the redressal of our concerns expeditiously and honestly”. He praised the fast track action plan of the KP Joint Action and announced that an Advisory Council would soon be announced by the Chairman of the KP Joint Action. He said the Central Committee has already given its action plan for the next two months. He also congratulated the Modi Government for its wonderful performance in the elections.
