Koul, Williams, Angchok, Wattal accorded warm send-off

JAMMU, Feb 28: Inspector Generals of Police, Yoginder Koul and Johny William today superannuated after serving Jammu and Kashmir Police for 33 years. They were given a warm send off at a function held at Police Headquarters here this afternoon.
On the occasion, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), VK Singh highlighted the contribution made by the superannuating officers and described them among most professional officers of the Organization. He said that the dynamic police officers, by the dint of their dedication and valour, always made JKP to feel proud.
Singh added that the officers worked on different assignments in the Organization and always came out to the expectations of the senior officers. They proved themselves sincere and dedicated officers, while delivery in the field of public service, he stated.
Singh said that the officers always remained available for the betterment of people and would be remembered for their capabilities in professional policing. He said that during their service, wherever they worked, took their assignments as challenge and faced it with fortitude. He said that their absence in the department would be realized at all times.
Other speakers, IGP (Personnel), JP Singh and IGP (Headquarters), SK Gupta also appreciated the contribution of two IGPs in leading the police Organization towards heights. They said that their work in the Organization would serve as an inspiration for other officers.
Among other, the function was attended by IGP SL Sharma, AIGPs, Rahul Malik, JA Koul, Mubassir Latifi, Sameer Rekhi and Kulbir Singh, DDP, Pawan Gupta, JDP, Gowhar, DDB, Munish Dutta, Sr ADO, Nasir Khan and other police officers.
Meanwhile, Excise Department bid a warm farewell to Excise Commissioner Tsering Angchok, who superannuated today after rendering over 32 years of illustrious service. Tsering Angchok joined as an Officer in Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) in 1984 and worked in various capacities as Under Secretary to Government, Planning Department, Deputy Secretary to Governor, ADC Leh and ADDC Jammu, DC Jammu and Leh, Administrator in Associated Hospitals. After his induction into IAS, he served as Director Handloom and Excise Commissioner, where he conceptualized and executed the Social Responsibility Corpus Fund.
Javed Ahmad Khan, New Excise Commissioner, all Deputy Excise Commissioners, Excise and Taxation Officers and staff of the Excise Department attended the function.
An engineer by profession and a dedicated officer, Jammu Municipal Corporation’s Ex-Commissioner Kiran Wattal was today accorded warm send off on his retirement in a function held in JMC office, which, among others, was attended by the corporation employees and prominent citizens, including retired and serving bureaucrats and businessmen. He attained superannuation today after rendering 37 years of meritorious service in various Government departments in different capacities. Besides serving JMC for 33 years as AE, AEE, Executive Engineer, Joint Commissioner and Commissioner, he has also served as Managing Director of J&K Housing Board, Chief Engineer of UEED and Secretary of J&K State Sports Council.
