Kohli reviews status of ongoing projects, activities of ASH Deptts

JAMMU, Feb 20: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli has directed the officers of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes including National Live Stock Mission (NLM), National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD), National Programme for Bovine Breeding (NPBB), Rashryia Gokhul Mission (RGM), Livestock Health & Disease Control (LH&DC) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) for the year 2017-2018 and submit the same to the administrative department for further submission to GoI for further necessary approval.
The instructions in this regard were given by the Minister in a meeting convened to discuss and review the various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and the Action Taken Reports of the projects already submitted to the Centre.
The Minister asked the officers to work with utmost dedication and expedite the working on the proposed projects. He said the Centre is providing liberal funding to the State but need of the hour is to project the demands and asked the concerned to submit the projects at the earliest.
He said the proposed projects will not help only in increasing productive of mutton, milk, poultry, and wool but also boost in uplift of socio-economic condition of the farming community. He further said that commissioning of these projects will create avenues for un-employed educated youth of the State.
The Minister directed the officers to furnish Utilization Certificates within a time frame so that the same could be forwarded to the Centre for further action.
Commissioner Secretary, A&SH, R K Bhagat, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Joint Director Animal Husbandry and other concerned senior officers of the Sheep Husbandry Department were present in the meeting.
