Kiryana shop owner booked for selling liquor

JAMMU, Aug 8: The owner of a Kiryana shop was booked today by RS Pura police for selling liquor illegally in his shop.
“On specific information, Surinder Choudhary, SDPO R S Pura, conducted a raid in a Kiryana store of Kulbir Singh alias Soni son of late Jagdev Singh, resident of Chak Mohd Yar and recovered 11 J&K Excise pouches (frooties) lying on counter of the shop”, a police spokesman said, the accused was openly selling liquor pouches in his shop and few customers were also standing near his shop to purchase liquor pouches.
He said that on seeing police Gypsy, Kulbir Singh and customers fled from the spot while recovered illicit liquor pouches were seized. “In this connection, a case FIR No 175/2017 under Section 48 A Excise Act has been registered in police station RS Pura”, he added.
