Kirmani Kings beat Super Giants in inaugural match

SRINAGAR, Apr 25: Kirmani Kings Lawapora emerged as victorious in the inaugural match of Kashmir Narbal Premier League (KNPL).
Amateur Cricket Club Manager, Abid Pathan along with KNPL chairman, Shahid Hassan Bhat inaugurated the tournament on at Narbal cricket ground here, in which hundreds of spectators enjoyed the inaugural match.
Tehsildar Narbal, sponsors of the league, prominent businessmen, senior citizens and cricket lovers from all over the valley were also present on the occasion.
The tournament has been voluntarily organised by cricket association Narbal in which different talented cricketers from all over Kashmir will participate.
The inaugural match was played between Super Giants Gotapora and Kirmani Kings Lawypora.
Kirmani Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. The team scored 178 runs in 20 overs. Towseef Ahmad with 63 runs in 46 balls and Zahoor Ahmad with 37 runs in just 15 balls were the notable scorers for the Kirmani Kings.
For Super Giants, Bashir Ahmad took three wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs and Skipper Shahid Hassan took 1 wicket for 22 runs in 4 overs.
In the second inning, Super Giants could not achieve the target and were bundled on 161 thus losing the match with 16 runs. For them, Syed Taha and Mehrajudin were the highest scorers with 29 runs each.
For his best bowling, Mudasir Ahmad was adjudged as the man of the match who took three crucial wickets of Super Giants in four overs and gave only 21 runs. He received the man of the match memento from Sky Tyre Emporium owner, Abdul Rashid Kambay.
On Thursday two matches will be played. In the first match Prime Spartans Narbal will lock horns with Al-Haram at 9:30 am while as in the second match of the day Al-Jamal Sherdils Sozieth will clash with Bhat Badshahs Sozieth at 1:30 pm.
All the matches will be played at Narbal cricket ground.
