JAMMU, Jan 18: Satwari police rescued a kidnapped married woman and arrested the accused from bus stand area, here.
As per police sources, husband of a lady lodged a complaint with police station Satwari on January 9 stating that his wife has been kidnapped by Narish Kumar alias Shastri, son of Ashok Kumar of Makwal.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 7/17 under Section 366 RPC was registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
On specific information, a team from Satwari police station conducted raid in bus stand area and rescued the married woman. The kidnapper tried to escape, but the cops nabbed him.
The woman has been restored to family members after completing legal formalities, while further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh recovered the married woman and arrested the accused under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
