Kichloo seeks release of salaries, arrears to SSA teachers before Eid

KISHTWAR,  June 10: Senior National Conference leader and former minister  Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo today expressed grave concern over non-disbursement of salaries for the past four months to SSA teachers in Jammu and Kashmir, saying this is inhuman and most insensitive act of the PDP-BJP Government.
Expressing solidarity with the striking SSA teachers, MLC  Kichloo,  in a statement,  said   the Government had assured that the issues pertaining to SSA teachers would  be redressed soon but it proved yet another hollow promise of the irresponsible dispensation. He said scores of striking teachers, men and women, kept protesting at  new DC office complex Kishtwar  in support of their demands but there seemed total apathy from the Government. He justified the demand for streamlining of salaries of SSA teachers, implementation of transfer policy, regularization policy and release of pending arrears, hoping that the Government will show some sort of compassion towards the striking teachers.
Kichloo  blamed the Government for forcing these teachers to face hardships in the absence of salaries. “Despite assurances by the successive Education Ministers, nothing has been done for to fulfill their demands. He also sought de-linking of SSA teachers from other schemes so that their salaries are released timely.
The former minister sought release of salaries and arrears to the SSA teacher ahead of Eid. “The Government cannot test their patience anymore”, he said and hoped that those at the helm of affairs would realize  the grievances of the striking teachers and address their problems.
