Khelo India Games for disabled inaugurated at Kathua

KATHUA, Apr 3: To help  the specially abled   people and provide them opportunity to show their sporting talent, the activists  of Special Olympics  Bharat Jammu Kashmir organized  a  3-days District  Games  for Kathua  at Sports Stadium, here.
The Games are being held under the supervision of State president, Special Olympics Bharat Jammu Kashmir, Dr  Ashwani  Jojra.
The Games were inaugurated by TSO Vishaw Bhandu Sharma from Social Welfare Department by lighting the traditional lamp.
298 persons with disabilities participated in the 3-days District Games and enjoyed the various sports events like BOCEE, 50 mtrs walk and 100 mtrs walk, Softball, Throw Ball and Wheel Chair race.
The first game was played for BOCEE between Red team and Green team, wherein Green team represented by Azim, Somraj and Shaahi Bala emerged winner, while in 50 mtrs walk, Mohinder Singh gold and Sudesh Kumar claimed silver and in 100 mtrs race, Sunny Janotra won gold.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sunil Sharma, Raj Kumar Sharma, Khjoor Singh and Ishwer Shard.
